The Rotary Club of Carshalton was chartered in 1936 and for many years had it's regular Tuesday attendance at lunchtime at the Greyhound Hotel, Carshalton. With a break during the war, 1939 to 1945, when they met at the Fox and Hounds Public House at the other end of the High Street, they then went back to the Greyhound and stayed there until the mid 1980s when they changed venues and for the last few years have been happily ensconced at Banstead Downs Golf Club, Burdon Lane, Sutton, SM2 7DD, meeting on a Tuesday evening from 5.30pm onwards to sit down to dine at 6pm.
